On The Back Cover
In ON THE BACK COVER we feature new books that have not yet been reviewed, that perhaps our readers would like to review for Thorn In The Side (just contact us at the book shop). These descriptions are abstracted from the blurbs on the books covers.
The Psychic Battle field: Behind the lines of paranormal ESPionage by W. Adam Madebaum Vision Books ISBN 1901250466 Covering 5000 years of military espionage, including the overthrow of the Pharaoh Rameses by magic, the CIA's use of military trained psychics during the cold war, an exposé of paranormal research and remote viewing experiments by the CIA and the real effectiveness of the USA's Stargate Programme. The publishers claim: "There has never been, until now, a book that describes and details the entire history of the symbiotic relationship between the paranormal and the military"
Klan-Destine relationships: a black man's odyssey in the Ku Klux Klan by Darryl Davies. Vision Books ISBN 191250504 Driven by the need to understand those who hate him for the colour of his skin, Davis investigates the world of the KKK, gaining insight into its workings and the members minds. He meets prominent members, such as Roger Kelly, Imperial Wizard of the Invincible Empire Knights of the KKK, and the two form "as close a friendship as a blackman and klansman can". Both "hard-hitting and shocking" the author's experiences result "in a ray of hope for harmony between the races and the future of mankind"
Car Wars: Battles on the road to nowhere by Chris Mosey. Vision Books ISBN 1901250407 A provocative and challenging investigation into the invention and development of the car, tracing its turbulent history and the equally controversial developments of British transport policy, a critical look at the "Eco-Warrior" and the role of groups such as Reclaim The Streets. Mosey poses the question "Can we effect the change needed to halt the environmental destruction of our planet? Or are we heading down a road to nowhere?"
