Bella Basura
Bella Basura is an entity, a process, a state of consciousness, that has allowed the manifestation, in ink on paper, of an alternative and fictional reality, since 1995. Thoroughly committed to a DIY self-publishing ethic, she has studied the craft of hand-bookbinding - and has been known to literally judge a book by its cover.
Bella has written 2 novels, self-published: Twisted Times, and The Muse Trap. Between 1998 & 2000, she wrote and published 7 pamphlets: A Sampler, Pompous Portents & Poetry, Visionary Spells & Psychotic Episodes, Assonance & Nonsense, Articulations, Necro-Tourist, and Retrospectives. Some of these are reviewed in The Headpress Guide to the Counter Culture. Her articles have been published in CamFIN, Headpress, and Dreamflesh. In 1999, she made a rare live appearance, reading her work at a Greenpeace benefit in Leicester.
She currently co-runs an Alternative Bookshop in East Anglia and writes under an assumed name.
