Dreamflesh Volume One (a florid & protean collection of ideas, investigations & experiments) is a collection of contemporary essays, edited by Gyrus (who brought you Towards 2012). This eclectic selection mirrors our own interests, where spirituality meets the political & environmental craziness of today's world. So the book includes interviews with Richard Heinberg on Peak Oil, and with Michael Ortiz Hill on Apocalyptic Dreaming. There are essays on diverse subjects: from incorporating Ancestor Worship into Western occultism; to the holy gastronomic trinity of bread, cheese & wine. Orryelle Defenestrate-Bascule (who gave a tarot workshop in the shop in 2006) contributes a description of his experiments with ritual mummification. And Bella Basura writes on the taboo of female body hair. (Bella, it is rumored, works under an assumed name in a certain Alternative Bookshop in Cambridge.) The book also includes a colour A3 poster by noted shamanic artist Pablo Amaringo.
